Can i build a web page without using any other social sites such as tagworld, me.com, bebo, myspace, etc?

i want to make a page where i can post my blogs and add my other social pages on it and if possible have a live chat room and have multiple music and videos on it, for my visitors to enjoy.

It's possible, but not easy!





Find a hosting company that suits your needs.

Learn Apache, and run a server, providing your isp allows you to do this.





The chat room thing is a bad idea, it takes A-LOT of bandwidth to run one, and getting people to join in a chat when your website is new without credibility is near impossible.





Also do consider myspace and many others make building web pages look easy, using templates that you yourself do not have to write out.





The truth is 90% of the really cool websites you see are built from scratch with various languages.





So there will be A-LOT of learning involved

Reply:Buy some books for the web or search online and open up notepad and write away. This is how I learned to write HTML, XHTML and DHTML and CSS.

myspace is nothing. Myspace is simple, easy, and already premade for you.





If you figure out how to do things on Freewebs or on another free site or something and you enjoy it and such...then...purchase a domain thing from yahoo or something.





It's a lot of fun when you get to know it..and learning the codes and such is hard, lots of memory, and such.
